Nightmares and lack of Sleep

he lays curled on the floor , his hands tied so he doesn't dig his claws into his own body again.

He's surrounded by darkness, the world around him muffled by his racing thoughts, memories

Memories that continue to haunt him. The hate he saw before that last moment of being purely Atlas. It clung to him and his mind whenever it was too dark like this.

Why couldn't it just leave him alone. He had rid of that horrible person for good. Why did this still haunt him. Why does it still hurt?

He can feel the cold tile of the floor biting into his skin, his shoulder pressed into the ground at an uncomfortable angle with how long he'd been there.

He wanted to rest. But he couldn't. These memories and nightmares wouldn't let him. Nightmares where he couldn't cry for help, ones where he drowned in his own oil.

He was so lost in thought he didn't hear footsteps. His good eye was close to the floor so he couldn't see the tall figure looking over him with furrowed brows and bright, but tired, yellow eyes.

He snapped out of it once his hands were suddenly cut loose from the rope that had been holding them away from his skin, gentle metal palms now cradling them instead.

He didn't feel the tears at first until his vision became blurry as they filled his optics, Solaris gently pulling him close as he sobbed, half-broken sentences trying to explain what's been keeping him up before his voice box just stopped. He hid his face into his large partner's shoulder, his own shaking as he was carried back to their shared room.

Quiet mutters of calm and love were blanketed over his weary mind, silencing the nightmares for tonight...

He could rest. This would happen again. But now he can recover more

Tada! Happy sequel to my previous piece with Mal's and Forget-me-nots.

Mal still have the Forget-me-nots but now Solaris has aster tataricus (thanks multi for telling me about this flower!) which means "I won't forget you"
